What happens when suckers return to their historic spawning grounds?
In collaboration with the Great Lakes Fisheries Commission, my master’s research at Cornell focuses on nutrient and energy dynamics in Lake Michigan tributaries. Native suckers migrate in the tens of thousands, adding nutrients that fuel river ecosystems as they travel to spawn.
